Amazing swim by Joseph Schooling to win Singapore's first-ever Olympic gold medal. He dominates the field by setting a new Olympic record of 50.39s. Congratulation to Joseph Schooling and Singapore!!!
A very rare 3-way tie for 2nd is shared by American great Michael Phelps (past three Olympics gold in 100m butterfly), South Africa's Chad le Clos and Hungarian Laszlo Cseh, with result 51.14s.
Phelps commented: "it's kind of special and a decent way to finish my last individual race". Phelps had just won his 12th and 13th individual Olympic gold in Rio 200m butterfly and 200m individual medley , and Rio will be his last Olympics.
